Default Service Manuals

I am not a mechanic, but do tinker with my own bike now and then, rarely motor related, Would purchasing the Tri-Glide Supplemental service manual be enough, or would I be wise to order the Touring service manual as well. Basically would like to know how to properly remove panels, follow wiring looms and such. Suggestions?

There are 4 manuals that make up the full package and together retail for @ $200. You can skip the parts manual as you can access what you need on line http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....RA-CLASSIC-(MA)

You can access electrical diagrams for free if that is all you want and eliminate the electrical troubleshooting gude although you wont have the troubleshooting steps, just the diagrams.

In my opinion at bare minimum you need the Service and Supplement manual.
  1. 94000383A (2017 Touring Models Service Manual)
  2. 94000391 (2017 Trike Model Service Manual)
  3. 94000395 (2017 Touring Models Electrical)
  4. 94000413 (2017 Trike Models Parts Catalog)

I bought the trike and touring manuals. If you intend to do anything to the rear end of your trike , buy it.

Even though you can look up parts online I always buy the parts manual (it is the least expensive) for several reasons:

I like to verify the part number(s) before ordering anything whether through my local dealer or online.

I find that the exploded view in the parts manual are much better (and larger) than those is the service manual(s).

I always buy the service manual and supplements and the parts manual. The electrical manual is pricey and personally I've found it to not be of much use to the home mechanic. Wiring diagrams are already in the service manual(s) and that's about all I need.

i usually trade in my bikes and I've always been able to sell the manuals to a local friend, forum member or even on eBay. If you sell yourself having the manuals for the new owner is a plus for you.

I bought the Touring service manual. So far, anything trike-specific has been either in the Owners Manual or findable online. Agree that the electrical diagrams in the Touring manual have been enough for my needs so far.

For what it's worth, I seem to go to the electrical and then the trike-specific manuals most, but when I changed handlebars most of the steps were in the touring manual. That job has you bouncing back and forth. I've also added a lot of lights. I'm sure if you plan on doing most of your regular maintenance regiment and any diagnostics and non-routine work, though, the touring manual would be more valuable. I'm glad I have the three.

Instead of the parts book, there are online parts locators you can use. I've never had a problem finding anything.

I can't believe everyone doesn't by manuals for their stuff. I have panhead, shovelhead, evo softail, evo touring , a couple of twin cam touring and now trike manuals. Best money a person can spend on their bikes, unless you let the shop work on it. And even then just reading it will give you some insight on how the bike operates and functions.

What is the 2018 Tri Glide Service Manual Supplement part #? Thanks.

Got it. 94000451 = 2018 Touring Service Manual
94000458 = 2018 Tri Glide Service Manual Supplement

When these threads reach the point of illegal manuals, the offending posts get removed and the thread locked. We have reached that point.
