2017 Freewheeler Exhaust

I am looking for the same thing for my 2017 freewheeler. The dealer says the SE street cannons will fit, but it not the sound I'm looking for. All the sites I go to show 2016 but not 2017. I'm not sure if this is just because some adapter is required or they just won't work. Craig Fass Racing says they will work with my and thinks their's will fit like the 2016's...would love those. The most frustrating part is they can't tell you why the 2016 won't fit. I won't purchase a freewheeler if I'm stuck with stock mufflers and not knowing why they won't fit tells me they are not working on a solution anytime soon. Can you knock the baffles out of the stock pipes for some improvement in sound? Thanks, Ron

To start with, the mufflers will most likely fit. The reason everyone is afraid to say yes is the relocation of the cat on the M8 exhaust.
Also Harley just went through a multi-million dollar fine from the EPA. They won't want to stick their neck out.
The next thing is no back pressure in the exhaust means loss of a bunch of the bottom end torque, & millage. So you need to have some sort of baffle in there.
There have been quite a few that have put non stock mufflers on so they will likely chime in.

My understanding is the trikes are different from the 2 wheel M8. Mufflers that fit a 2016 will fit the 2017 trike becaus of the extension on the trike header.
The two wheel M8 mufflers have two mufflers with different size inlet. The left is bigger than the right where the clamp mounts to the header...the trike mufflers are the same size because of the extension....well, this is my understanding anyway. I haven't crawled under to measure mine yet...

Interesting, J&P say they have a set of van & hines that will fit the 2017 freewheeler but requires an adapter kit. But when you select the adapter it says it won't fit the 2017 freewheeler. I went to the V&H site and asked customer support for more info. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks, Ron

There are ways to remove the stock baffle then put in a different baffle or use a lolly-pop in place of it.
I think you will like that M8. It responds well to mods.
