how many miles did you put on your front tire before you changed it
Hi Guys,
I took a ride to my dealer today. He looked at my front tire and said that I should change it...I can hydroplane in the rain....
I said I have only 7800 miles on it...he said that the front tire should be changed at approx. 8000 miles....
Is this correct????
Thanks in advance...

Approximately 14 thousand on the first tire... I have 23 thousand on the second tire... Both stock tires, Why the difference in miles... Not sure, Just one of those things that can't really be explained..

12,000 so far on my original Freewheeler front time and a lot of 'meat' left. Wife has 9,000 on her Tri and it also looks good. She will wear out before me, she uses a lot more front break than I do
With the breaks 'joined' in the newer models I rarely use the lever. I really wish they were reversed, lever operating both, pedal only the rear. Polaris has it that way on thier quads.

I changed my at 10k maintenance. I may have got another thousand on it, but was on my way out of town on a week long ride. I ride in hot weather, and use my front brake exclusively. I wasn't surprised to need it. Trikes only track on one part of the tire as we don't bank curves. I suspected it would be much faster than a 2 wheeler.
Better safe than sorry.

14K on the first one so far, and it still looks pretty good, like 3/32". I was going to have it changed anyway before a 2.5K mile New England trip, but the wife just had a triple bypass Tuesday, so that's out. I think I'll just finish the season off with it and get a new one next year now. Oh, and she's doing very well, they're thinking of sending her home tomorrow. She may be ready, me, I'm not so sure about...
