Default Stage 1 vs stage 2

I'm new to forum and need help. Had 2015 Triglide decanted, SE air intake and tuned. Also SE slip on. Do I have a stage 1. What's involved with a stage 2.
Seems like great forum. Appreciate your help. Yanko.

PS. Did all the above to get rid of heat. Harley dealer did it and am very happy with results.

With the new Rushmore, there really isn't a Stage 2 upgrade path. On the 13 and earlier Triglides, the addition of the SE255 cams would make it what Harley called Stage 2.

Based on what I've done is it considered Stage 1. I was trying to get rid of heat. 10 min. traffic lights in Florida when it gets 90* is murder. Sorry for ignorance.

Stage 1 is considered pipes, air cleaner and tune. Stage 2 is usually the addition of performance cams, stage 3 if I am not mistaken is the addition of performance heads or big bore. Stage 4 is all of the above.

I know dealers would like you to look at it that way, but in the SE catalog Stage 1 is just the air cleaner. Stage 2 has always been a big bore and cams, the Stage 2 is always EPA compliant. Years ago when the 88" TC was the standard engine, a Stage 2 was taking it from 88 to 95" and the installation of the SE203 cam. When HD went to a 96" as standard, Stage 2 became taking it from 96 to 103 and the addition of the SE255 cam.

Myself, I think the whole stage thing is gay, I just build the engine to suit myself and not worry what stage I'm at. Kind of like in the car world when a guy would be rattling on about having a 3/4 race cam, it's like WTF is a 3/4 race cam, it just sounds weird.

Thanks for help. I just started to attack the heat. Each thing got a little better. I was just wondering were I was vs the chatter on the forum. Also added DK tank lift and floorboard extensions. Happy with way it's set up now. Again thanks.

I have always used the "stage" thing as a starting point. I agree to just take the engine where you want it. I never thought adding performance heads would do that much but the last bike I did it too really ran hard after about 3000 rpm. Made quite a difference. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You have an extensive understanding of how these things work. I can do basic wrenching but id love to know how to rebuild an engine etc. Here in middle of no where Montana you take knowledge where you can find it. The only thing Id like to do to the motor I have now is better cams . It would be nice to have more passing power on the interstate. Otherwise I am completely happy with the trike.

Some cams and a tune sure do wake them up.
