Default Airing Up the Air Shocks??

Bought a HD air shock pump w/the gauge. It screws on to the valve and is advertised not too leak when removing it after inflating. When I unscrew it from the valve it bleeds the shocks empty...Am I doing something wrong or was I wrong to buy this pump in the first place...back to using my bicycle pump and removing it to check air pressure w/an air gauge. How do you air up your shocks and check the pressure?

"using my bicycle pump" That might be your problem right there.
You might have broken your valve with that.

really don't think so since it still accepts air and holds. I am thinking it may be
as others have suggested, bad pump. will return and have parts guy use it.

Make sure you are not compressing the small button on it, it is used to remove the air from the shocks and not lose any oil.
