Cigarette Plug--can we use it to power a device??
#11
I just used the cigarette plug for my Sirius radio. I bought the motorcycle handlebar mount. Very easy install so now I can listen to Sirius on the bike without spending the $499 for the Harley Davidson adapter. I will try and post pics this week.
The cost for all the parts including the Starmate 8 radio was $120.
I am only paying $12 a month for the radio subscription. All I got is the Mostly Music.

Hi Guys,
I was reading through the manual and it said that we SHOULD NOT use the cigarette plug to power a device. I was thinking of getting a Sirius radio motorcycle mount. Here is a link to it::

Was wondering if anyone used the cigarette plug to power a device and or do you have a sirius radio mount installed.
rather go with the mount then to spend $499 plus tax to buy the Sirius adaptor for the stock radio
Thanks again for all your help!

There is a cigarette plug cable that plugs into your accessory plug under your seat. Plug your XM cable into that adapter. You can control the power on and off from the accessory switch. Use the cable from XM to plug into the acc on the radio to get the signal from the XM to play on the radio. All the cables can be run under the seat, and fuel tank up to a handlebar Ram mount.
