Question Sorry, new oil thread

I know there has been many other oil threads posted, but have never seen this addressed. There is a new synthetic V-Twin 20-50w oil available through Wally World. This oil, with the brand name Quicksilver, states on the jug that it meets all grade standards for use in all V-Twins, including in the transmissions and primaries. Has anyone had any experience with the use of this oil. The savings would be about $3.50 per quart. After posting this I'm going to do more research online, but thought I would ask here first. Thanks!

In the past I owned a s stroke Yamaha outboard. I used the Quicksilver oil in it once. The overheat alarm started going off the very first day.I had several people tell me this could happen. I drained it, put Yamalube in it, and learned my lesson.

I can't say for certain that the oil you are looking at will cause issues. But I won't be chancing it.

Even though it may be a good oil, ask yourself if $14 for an oil change is worth taking the chance. $14 over 5k miles is like 3/10th of a cent per mile. It's too cheap to buy good, well tested oil and treat your baby the best it can be. Don't cheap out on a $30k trike.

Yeah that^^

There are too many other good choices that have stood the test of time. Why go with an unknown?

I've used Quicksilver products in my boat for years, didn't have a problem, BUT I wouldn't use them in my AIR COOLED Harley.

There are a lot of threads on the boards about saving a buck buying cheapo oil, tires, and running regular gas among other things. You just dropped 30+GRAND for a toy! Don't cheap out now. I've always run synthetic oil in my motorcycles, they have a much higher tolerance to heat. Spend the bucks and enjoy that new toy!

Why count pennies now that you've spent the big bucks?
