Default seat screw

Anyone else have problems with the seat retaining screw ? I bought a sheepskin which requires seat removal to install. Ha it is bad enough trying to get that damn screw in without an added cover. Thinking about putting a stud in its place and making an extended nut for it ! Any ideas are welcomed ! Ebert

I like the stud idea ... although I wonder would it be tougher to get the bracket over the stud.

I don't have any problem seeing where the screw is. I pull up the back of the seat tucking it into the TP and the screw is pretty visible. I hold the seat pulling up as I unscrew the screw. Installing the seat I have the screwdriver set in the screw in the seat and hold the seat up off the mount until the screw starts. Maybe I am missing something here?

We have a 14 TG and it's the biggest pain in the butt to put that darn seat screw in....never had any issues with earlier years....

I took out the phillips screw and replaced it with a thumb screw

I did the tglidestuff.com tour pak relocation. With the pak back 1.5" the screw is really easy to get at.

I use a foresps (-5 sp) last time to get the screw in ... locked on ... use it to get the screw started then used a long phillips to tighten it ... not perfect but worked ... I'm gonna do some playing with the stud idea

I put a stud and stainless, knurled thumb nut on mine. So much easier!
