2014 TriGlide Defective Paint on Rear Fender
A friend of mine who is not on this forum purchased a new 2014 TriGlide three weeks ago. About a week ago while on a long ride he noticed what looks like spider webbing in the clear coat of the left rear fender paint. Everyone of the service advisers at the selling dealership feel it's a defect in the finish of the fender. Yet, when Harley was advised, they refuse to cover this unless the fender is taken off and sent to them for their inspection of the defect. It doesn't show up well in a photo, but there is no doubt that it is a defect.
The bottom line is now he has to do without his brand new bike he just paid over $32k for for weeks while HD makes up their minds about this obvious defect. He even called HD himself and got the same response. We've owned 12 new HD's since 2003. If this doesn't get resolve quickly, I may consider other makes when I replace my TriGlide.
Has anyone here experienced anything like this?

my 2k13 vivid black had similar defect in left fender. didn't notice it at the dealer but as soon as I pulled into my garage and started to wipe the trike down, I could see them.
took it back the next day. service dept tried to wet sand them out, nope didn't work.
they ordered me a new fender and within a week it was in. they took off the old and installed the new. no hassles and warranty covered it all.
