Default 2 of these jack up trike

http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/At...FcU-MgodIWAA8g

Scissor jacks? Anyone use two of these to spread under trike as far as possible and run em up a bit at a time until it's jacked? Seems it would work, not sure how stable once up ? As you can tell I'm still looking for a good way to jack it up for stuff, like lift kit and oil changes ect...

Still Like the J & S Trike Jack but 600 is stiff $ for me...I know you get what you pay for!

Thanks in advance
Hap

What you need to consider is how much the item costs that you are lifting. How much damage will it cause and will you get hurt if a cheap jack fails.

I have this jack and have used it with no problems. Slide it under the frame behind the engine then put the plastic extensions on and jack the frame up. It does require me to lay on the ground to get it in and out of position. Then put jack stands in place and move jack with out extensions to the front and jack it up. Trike is solid does not move. Yes the J&S would be much easier to use, faster and could move the trike around. However for me don't have to jack it up that much and the $600 for the J&S is just not on the list right now. Maybe when I can't get up and down from the ground it may be much more attractive!

Have used it to put on the lift kit , oil changes for me it is well worth the money. It is not a light jack it weighs around 30 lb. without all the adapters.

I have this one. Very sturdy, and reasonably priced. I know others on this forum use this one, as that is where I got the recommendation.

The jack in your link is the same one I use when working off both the lift and the floor. One thing you need to watch for is the trike will slide on the jack if your not careful. As a precaution I always use some jack stands placed under the swing arm frame members. When jacking up the back end you will need to strap the front wheel down to keep it from wanting to lift. On the lift I use both the chock and a strap hooked to eye bolts to keep it down. On the floor I screw eye bolts in to anchors my dad installed in his garage floor.

go to a car junk yard. there are scossor jacks that have a 3x4" jacking pad.or i use a floorjack under the trunk. with 2 pices of lumber 8" long ,wood screwed on top of each other. and on top used a 3" hole saw & cut out a plug out of 3/4" scrap piece of wood. (what ever fits snugly in your jack pad. slide it to cover 3 braces under the trunk. use 1 1/2 ton jack stands.

Default The way I do it . . . .

I'm fortunate enough to have a 9000# hydraulic car lift in my shop. I made adaptors for the lift arms so that I can lift my Trike by the wheels. Allows me to work on the Trike standing up and clear access to everything underneath.

DON

Edit: I was able to post the pictures . . . but can't view them because I don't have "sufficient privileges". Hopefully they came through.
