Default Freewheeler rear fender plastic film protection??

Has anybody added 3M to the leading edge of their back fenders? I made a couple of attempts with a single sheet with a hole cut in it for the reflector but couldn't get the wrinkles out. I think I may have to use smaller, multiple pieces.

How did you do it?

I have used film protector on all three of my Trikes...also on some of my 2 wheelers.

It is a painstaking process to get all the wrinkles and bubbles out. Takes time and the right tools. There are many youtube tutorials on the process.

Also, it costs more, but is a bit easier, to use a pre-cut kit from HD or other vendors.

I would not want to use multiple small pieces. You will definitely see the lines where you butt them up against each other, and dirt will collect in that small space, making it even more distinct.

Check out Cruz Armor. IMHO much better than 3M, and check out his application videos.

The reflector on the front of the fender unfortunately is in the way. I'll have to work around it.

If it was me, I would use a heat gun and some dental floss to remove the reflectors, put the film protection on, then either get some 3M double sided automotive tape and reinstall or buy new reflectors, they are about $15 US.

+1 on Franks fender chaps.
Not only are they well made, protective and look good they don’t require any modification or drilling on the fenders.

Frank is willing to modify a set of leather chaps to clear the reflector for a small fee.

The reflector is there to satisfy an Ontario regulation. I don't know if it's a rule anywhere else. Seems not.
