Welcome to the Forum. The differential does not have oil per your other post. It contains grease. See Picture. #20 is a grease fitting (zerk) and #21 is a grease plug. Should not leak, could be a bad grease fitting or plug. If the spring is bad in the Zerk fitting grease may come out. Dealer should install new zerk if it is leaking it is probably because the spring or steel ball seal is jammed. Not a big issue, just replace. I have bad ones when working on automotive fittings on drive shafts & ball joints.

And there is a Tri Glide section of the Forum, where your questions will probably be answered quicker when discussing 3 wheels.

I would take it back to the dealer since it is under warranty.

The currently have it, going on 3 weeks for the 2nd time since I bought it, It has 3 miles on the odmeter, and a couple hundred riding in their trailer back and forth to me.
What is everyone's thoughts on removing the grease fitting and putting a plug in that hole. If a dealer needs to service it, (which I keep hearing it is not servicable) can put the grease fitting back in and service it then remove and plug the hole again?

So what exactly is the issue? You stated in your other post the issue was resolved: " Mech. said he removed the grease fitting and soldiered the hole shut. Then said he raised the rear wheels off the ground and ran the tike thru all 6 gears and no lube came out of the rear end "

For the life of me I cannot understand why a mechanic would "soldier the hole shut". I would get a picture of the soldiering job and call the MoCo to see if this is an authorized method of repair.

I also have a hard time imagining that you only have 3 miles on the odometer as there are usually 10 or so miles on them from dealer set up etc. How far do you live from the Dealer? What other issues have you had as you state this is the second time you have had the Trike in for service. I have a new 2019 purchased in December and have 700 trouble free miles. There does not seem to be many issues with Trikes on the Forums I frequent.

I may be off base here but something is just not making sense to me.

Same issue each time, they brought the bike to me late mid Dec. Started putting my chrome and bumper on and noticed the lude on my lift from the fitting, They came and picked the trike up, took it back said the fitting was bad and that they replaced it. Now it is like a sore thumb, looking at it first thing when I get it back on the lift to finishing putting my Accessories on. Notice the fitting has lube leaking again. They came and got the back again. This time they said they soldered the hole shut, now I have not seen the back since that statement. The dealer is 60 to 70 miles from me. 3 miles was what was on the trike when I looked at it and made the purchase, which it was not completely together, it had pretty much just come off the skid. Problem I am having is, and some of it is not having seen the trike since he said he soldered it shut, is why was it leaking, what was it leaking? The grease I am familiar with wont leak, this is like and oil, So just looking for some valid ideas as to what and why this is doing this, and peace of mind, do not want to be stranded on the Highway to DC Memorial day or to Myrtle Beach this spring or Fall.
