If you're installing it on a new touring bike, better check with your local dealer on how it will affect the BCM (body control module). The new touring bikes electrical system don't work on voltage. You can screw up
something by just splicing into a wire.
Example: pressing a turn signal switch doesn't send voltage to the turn signal. The BCM senses the resistance and IT sends the voltage to the turn signal.
So, when the resistance is not what is expected it throws a code.
I'm not saying it won't work, just that a little fore thought is called for before snipping wires on the newer touring bikes.
