AS most of you know...I got my Amber Whiskey SG Special and ordered the inner painted inner fairing...I may want to sell the stock high gloss black one...what do you guys think is a FAIR price?

 

Whatever you paid for your Amber Whisky minus 30%, as long as it's flawless.

 

So how much u gonna sell it for ?

 

of course it is flawless....came off as soon as the biker hit the dealer.....$650 is the painted inner fairing...

 

Even at 30% off of 650 I doubt it would sell .

Couldn't a guy take off his flat one and have it painted black and cleared for 100 or less ?

 

Agreed.... Hard item to sell. If someone is looking for one they can have theirs painted for much less.

 

I actually meant 30% off the 20% people usually get from most online parts dealers. Most people don't pay full price for accessories.

$660 - 20% = $520

$520 - 30% = 360

Some people get their stock inner painted to save money, like myself. Some people feel having a factory finish part is better.

I would price it around $300 plus shipping and see if anybody bites.

 

I'm in Dallas. I took my inner fairing off, and took it down to the guy who does Farris's bikes (Strokers), and he painted it vivid black for $200. I had it back in a week and a half, and it looks great!

 

If I had a 14 SG with an unpainted inner, I would pay $200-250 shipped. Otherwise, I would have mine painted. I think it will sell once more people have the new model.
There probably just aren't enough 14's on the road yet to get a lot of interest.

 

Biggest thing about black is you don't have to buy a quart of HD paint at $200 to match it. I have a 2010, factory painted, gloss black, new takeoff, inner in my van a friend of mine is selling for $150 with the center cap. Got somebody looking at it but that's what they go for black. More of a convenience on a swap than anything else.
