The HK head unit with the Hogtunes speakers sounded a lot better IMHO compared to the Sony with Hogtunes. I switched because the HK unit had lost it's display (very common). I should have just sent it to Iron Cross.

Sound system has now become a money pit. I installed a pair of Hawgwired Gauge Mount Tweeters to improve things, now it seems that all I hear are highs, they over power the Hogtunes. The Sony display can't be read in the daylight. The AVC increases the sound when accelerating, but doesn't turn it back down when slowing down. The channel buttons are too small to hit accurately when I am riding. The channel up and down function on my handlebars skips channels when I am riding, the HK never did that.

Everyone says, switch to more expensive speakers, install an amp, etc. $$$

As I said, the original HK with Hogtunes sounded great.

Yesterday I was fed up, after being on the fence as to getting rid of the whole setup and going back to stock, I decided to see if there would be any interest.

I guess I'll try an amp and see what happens...
