This backrest came with my bike when I bought it used. I think I used it twice. I have no idea how much the previous owner used it, but it looks practically brand new to me. The backrest assembly and pad itself is the comfort stitch style. It will fit any touring bike 1988 and later provided you have the proper mounting kit. The kit that I have that goes with it is part #52587-09 and fits touring bikes from 88-08. 09 and later models would require mounting kit part#52589-09A.
The backrest retails for $189.95. The mounting bracket retails for $29.95. You can have the whole setup for $135 shipped to the continental US. Keep in mind this is the pre 09 mounting kit. PM me if interested. Thanks.

 

Should go without saying, but obviously you must have a seat with a cutout in it making it compatible with a backrest. Also the bracket mounts to rear fender under the seat, and the backrest itself is detachable. Some pics of the mounting bracket.
