940'S are great shocks... I'm 270LBS and ride 2-up most of the time. Have the Ft lowered and these were my 3rd attempt to stop the bottoming out on back roads. These worked for me and the rear adjustment is about 50%. Stiffer ride then the OEM shock but still a comfortable ride solo and 2-up and no more bottoming out.

So these don't have the original heavier spring in them. What setting did you have them at that felt too stiff for you. I weight 230...I don't want it to bottom out. Do you think at 230 the spring you have in the shocks now would be too soft?

Thats what I'm wondering myself. Plus when I add the tourpack loaded and the wife it might be to soft. I didn't know the 940's had different springs to make them softer or stiffer?

I weigh 190. For 1100 miles of the trip I had tour pac and saddle bags loaded. 500 miles they were empty. The trip started in S/E Michigan to Madisonville Tenn. Put on 500 miles in Tenn. NC and Georgia. Then back to Michigan. Had the shocks set at the softest setting the whole trip......

Shoot! I just bought a set thinking they would be better than the lumber wagon stock air shocks! (I had back surgery) I hope I can smooth them out!
