this might sound really dumb, but do these mount directly to the bar, or over top of the stock grips ?

I am wondering because it looks like the bar would show thru underneath the way these are constructed. Is this the case ?

 

They do not cover the stock grips and yes you can see the bar underneath.

 

Those are some pretty neat grips. Wish I could see a set installed.
