My Dealer told me that I need to bring in my SG after 500 miles for the oil change due to having "break in oil" in it? I have had two other brad new HD's and was told to come in after 1,000 miles for the first oil change. Which is it? I plan on putting the synthetic in all three holes, but did not know I needed to get back this soon..Any advise?

The owner's manual says 1k.

 

I think you're in the wrong place.

 

1k on break in, throwing money away to put syn 3 in the tranny and primary. Especially the primary but HD needs the bread.

 

One question..is he paying for it or you?

 

When you get the bill for the oil change you will be clutching your chest...

I decided at 850 miles to get my 1000 mile service...

I now feel (and always will feel) violated.

 

how much are you asking ?

 

I did the break in service at 1,000 miles!

 

Sorry I am on the wrong thread....But thanks to all that replied anyway, I feel better about waiting til 1k...Thats miles not the cost..I hope.
