OK, probably a silly question for most folks but this non web savy guy needs a little guidance. I've never done personal selling on the forum or net as matter of fact. As far as individual to individual it's always been a face to face thing with me. I have a couple of touring bike things that I would like to post in the classifieds. I understand posting some good pic's of the item along with a description but what's the usual manner of monetary exchange that's fair for the seller and buyer? I'm reluctant to send merchandise without the money in my hand first. I have a tendency to trust people and of course the forum itself seems to have mostly, like myself, regular type folks enjoying each others interest in bikes. Probably making too much of this as usual but any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!
The best way to exchange funds is via paypal, that way both parties are protected.
Or, the buyer can send a Money Order..then the seller ships once it is received.

Agree with Sprint12, PayPal is best. If going M/O then I pay very close attention to who I am buying from. If they have not been on here at least a year I pass on the deal having been burnt once.
Thanks for the input guys. Like you're saying pretty well common sense stuff. I've been on here a year and for the most part folks seem pretty decent. Thanks again.

Sprint has it correct and i will add that even with pics you should describe item to the detail as far as description.age, wear, usage, scratches, hardware, gask ets..Your means of shipping..Does buyer want extra insurance, tracking numbers?...Do you charge for packing, may seem **** BUT the more info you can give the better the transaction will be for you and the buyer. Good luck on your sales!!
I prefer not to use PayPal. And being the trusting soul I am I usually ship before receiving payment as long as there is good communication and nothing sounds fishy.
