Default Virtually new - Ohlins shocks for Harley touring bikes

SOLD

NOTE - PRICE REDUCTION TO $399 plus shipping capped at $19.

I bought a set of Ohlins #2 shocks from Howard at Motorcycle Metal for my 2010 Streetglide and they don't work for me. They are a bit too stiff for my taste - I like a soft cushy ride - so I am going to the Harley Electraglide 13" air shocks. As a result, these virtually brand new shocks, which have been on my bike for less than 100 miles, are for sale.
The shocks are 13.25" eye to eye, with over 4" of piston travel for great rebound and compression control, and have a 4 position pre-load adjustment.
I paid $520 for them, after the forum discount - the sale price here is $435 plus shipping capped at $25.
See Howards website for more info on these shocks at http://motorcyclemetal.com/gpage32.html.
Contact me at onedae@ca.rr.com or 310-822-3482.

I have the same shocks and love them. These would be for a friend of mine, but I think he might be too heavy for these springs. They are set up for a 175-200 lb. rider (70% solo/ 30% 2-up) If you want them, you better jump on them quick. ~ Shaun

Additional info re these shocks. They are set up for a rider of 200lbs or less but, by design, they are stiffer than the stock air shocks. So unless you are much heavier than 200 lbs, they will work fine. Also, with the 4 position pre-load, you can easily adjust them for additional weight - luggage, passenger. Finally, although they are 13.25" eye to eye, the shocks sag more than the stock shocks when you get on the bike so the ride height difference is not that great.

Move the clip 1 groove that holds the spring perch, in essence lowering the preload. I had similar issues with mine and this did the trick. I had mine set up the same way 175-200lb rider, 70% solo, 13.25 length #2 version on a 08 FLHX, it rode stiff and the preload he sets is a little too much for me and from what you are saying is too much for you. It will make a world of difference, try this before selling. You have to remove the spring and then move the c-clip 1 groove towards the mounting eye on the body. The year of the bike doesn't matter on the Ohlins shock setup as far as 2010 vs 2008. I was suprised on how stiff mine felt until doing this, Night and Day difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!
