This is true...
However the lack of the hole offers a cleaner look for the older bikes that have the cables...
What you'll have to do is route the cables thru the opening where the handlebars come out...No problem-o
I've seen it done and it makes for a clean installation...
I wish my clutch cable was routed thru the area like my front brake lines are and not have any holes what so ever in the inner fairing to have to look at...

If you want the hole the fairing is like a PVC so it don't take nothing to drill it...
Use one of those step drill bits that start out at 1/4" and steps up to 1" in small increments...

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. I didn't want to cost the OP a sale, but I just wanted everybody (possibly including myself) to know exactly what they were dealing with.

A plus for the '08 inner fairing are the four holes on each side to mount the newer version of the adjustable deflector/vents. If I hadn't already done the inner on my bike, I'd prefer the '08 version.

TexasBowhunter, Do you know if I will have to get longer cables to re route them as you have mentioned. I have an 05 ultra. I'm also looking for someone to paint this fairing. There is a guy on ebay doing it for 250.00. Has anyone used him or could someone recommend someone they have used and had a good experience. Thanks

Ripper, I just painted the bike (and the inner fairing 3 months ago) so I think I'll pass on your excellent suggestion.

Snowfly, good purchase.
