Both of the units you listed are exactly the same except the ‘ORV’ edition has some special graphics. Otherwise, yes, it is the exact same unit.

 

Do you have to pay subscription fees to get full use if this unit?

 

Nope. My brother and I use these to talk to each other while we ride. You just have to use their app to Bluetooth to your phone, but the app is free. I've never used it to make phone calls or listen to music, but they're capable of doing so. They're great for using as comms to other riders. I was getting about 12 hours before needing to charge the battery, not sure if music would drain it faster.

 

No. There are no subscription fees required to use the PackTalk Edge device.

 

OK. I was looking at the Cardo Systems FREECOM 2X just to stream music.

 

The PackTalk Edge has many more features and capabilities than the Freecom line of products.

 

And more expensive if only being used for music. I've read good things about the audio.
