FS: Russel Day Long Seat - 08+ Touring models
#11
I bet that thing is comfortable, I would love that but have to try it out first for the price .
Would be nice to see it side by side with a Harley seat to get a feel for the dimensions.

If you do long distance rides, it's worth the $.

They are wider and as stated about 1" taller than stock(unless someone had a low version built). The width and support for the hip flexors is what makes them comfortable. I have had one for almost 50k miles on my V-Strom and ridden coast to coast & NOLA to Maine.....it is absolutely the best seat I have had in 50+ years of riding. 10 hour back to back days in the saddle and I never even think about my ****....the things are amazing.

For any nay-sayers out there balking at the value of their seats, especially at this price, these are simply the best seats money can buy. Go try to get one new and you'll be out a grand, a donor seat, and a four to six month wait. Stop fooling around and buy this one. You can thank me later.

Only the rider's seat was done......I can tip toe it confidently with both feet or flat foot it with one foot at a stop as the mod raised the seat by 1"...

I'll echo what Pappy said above. I had front and rear Russell Day Long seats made for a BMW R1200GS, and used them on two bikes. Fantastic seats. I bought used seats to use as the donor base pans. You can ride them to the corner gas station, or ride them across country, and never even have to think about your butt. The gold standard in motorcycle seats.
After ten years and 61K miles using an Airhawk on my 14 Road King, I decided to do something about the stock seat. I had planned on a Russell, but due to less cost and positive reviews here I went with Mean City Cycles. Mistake. They worked on it twice, and it's barely better then stock. Every *** is different, and Mean City just didn't work for me. $500 down the drain.
My dimensions are too far apart from the seller for me to take a gamble on this seat. He's 5'8", 28" inseam, and had the seat built for >230 pounds. I am 6'2", 34" inseam, 200 pounds. Being out $500 thus far, whatever direction I go now it's going to be with a seat I can either try ahead of time, or return for a refund if I don't like it. But if you're similar in size to the seller, I would jump on this seat. Even more so since it was made on a Mustang seat as opposed to the relatively flimsy Harley base pans.
