Default Damaged CVO 117 for sale

I have a 2021 CVO 117 that had a front piston skirt break off and go through the engine. Back cylinder still has full compression.
Obviously, the motor will need a complete disassembly to clean the aluminum crap out of the motor. Long story short I put a hitch
on my bike the week before the piston broke and Harley cancelled my drivetrain warranty. Since I'm paying the bill on this, there
was no more tear down after deciding to replace the motor I opted to put a stage 4 131 back in instead of rebuilding. It could be as
cheap as just replacing the top end for very little dollars, or a worst case scenario where everything inside would need replaced at
around 3 grand using all Harley parts. This motor will be available after April 2nd. Just checking to see if there is any in trust in this
motor as is. I'm looking to get $2500 plus shipping.

Sorry for your troubles! Did the dealer rat you out on the hitch?

Tell them about the Magnuson Moss warranty Act. You have a touring bike, And they sell Hitches. That should not of done anything to the motor or warranty. A lawyer would have fun with that dealership. They have to prove that the hitch did that to the piston. I would say the tranny would of went first.

After sending the piston photo to Harley, they requested 360 degree walk around photos. My dealer could've cared less, but they treated me very well on the labor
and the new crate 131 thats going in.

Harley hasn't sold hitches or trailers for over 20 years. Harley claims since the no hitch rule is in the users manual, there's no debate. I gambled I wouldn't have a problem within my warranty period and lost after less than 200 miles.
Thats why I don't buy lottery tickets.

sorry for your trouble, I think I would have taken the hitch before it went to the dealer.

Man I’d love to be able to play around with that engine. But can’t take that kind of gamble for that much. I’d throw an offer but don’t want to insult you.

Also cool to see someone recognize their own responsibility in this mess and not freak out on the dealer/moco about some obscure act that nobody has actually used. Glad you’re dealer helped you out on the upgrade.

Personally I don't believe for minute that towing something with the bike caused his issue. MoCo is just using fine print to get out of paying. If they didn't see the hitch it would have been covered. Just my opinion
