The pipes although hot, are not hot enough to burn the tassels.
The original method was to use some glue along with 6 small 1/8 machine screws. The glue is similar to shoe goo. a rubbery not hardening type glue. you'd have to obtain that and using the tassel holes as a template drill 6
x holes in the floor boards.
The rear fender tassel hooks to the backside of the taillight via a bracket.
The Front tassel will require 3 X 1/8" holes drilled in the rear of the fender guard. if you peek at the pics really closely you will see the button head screws holding them in place.
