Both made the same, perforated baffles, different tips. The 550 mellows baffles are a bit quieter and have a round plug/washer with a hole in the middle of it redirecting exhaust. The 549 has a straight through baffle. Cant go wrong with either in terms of performance.

KumaRide-
Are the 548 Crusher mellow slash chrome Rolands? Or to be avoided?

TIA

Those are the real deal. Same as what Idahokid posted above. Dont know if his are mellows or regs. If it were me, I'd get the mellows also. On two other forums, MANY respected tuners use the mellows with very good results on cammed 103's, 110's CVO's cammed and even larger displacement.

Idahokid, any chance you've got a vid of how those sound? What head pipe are you running?
Thanks!

I'm running the stock head pipe and for me it's perfect. When I first put them one they were super deep and almost bothersome but they have broken in nicely to the point that it's just a nice low rumble running down the interstate. No problem with radio anymore.Mine are the mellows.Ive tried to record the sound and it doesn't do it any justice.I get all the highs and none of the deep tones.

The monster rounds also have this washer.
