I was on my tippy toes with both feet with the stock seat on my 2017 SGS. This seat allowed me to be flat footed on both sides. I'd say its about an inch lower but the narrower front section helps a lot too. Makes it much easier when backing the bike out as well. I didn't really notice a change in the position going forward or back
