I am interested. I have the HD version in 6 in. Interested in trading? Its only 2 weeks old as I had the dealer install but it too short. 2016 SGS. Let me know.

First. Buy all u can through Amazon. Everything is returnable. Used or not. 2nd that ****ing expensive for that tiny shield. 3rd look up freedom shields. As long as you don't remove the plastic wrap u can mount and try. If it's not right they will take it back. Rev zilla. **** them. No one should buy from them then.

I cut an inch from an 8.5, but would not do that again.

I carefully measured, then bought a 6.5 -- before settling on the 8.5. In fact, there're LOTs of variables in fitting re-curved shields. For many of us, measuring is only a start.

I tried the 6 1/2" it was too short so I went with the 8 1/2". As you said the top was right in my field of view. All I did was drill new holes and mount it. You don't have to cut the bottom off, just slide it down. I measured 3/4" up from the edge of the notch, basically giving you a 1" centerline drop. Drill a 1/8" pilot hole, then 5/16" and finish with a 1/2". Piece of cake, works perfect and made a world of difference in the view.

just an fyi...if you drill, go to tap plastics or the like and get some bits meant for plastic....
