Default Swapping out bars on 2015 Road Glide

Anyone swap out the bars on their '15 RG? I would want to do some apes, and would imagine with the bars pulled back 5.5" this year there should be some extra wire and cable length. Anyone know how high you can go without replacing the cables or wires?

RG Forums has a big thread about this and they say there are pins on the bars where the controls mount preventing rotation of the controls to keep the internal wiring from being damaged. Also there are pins on the riser clamp limiting rotation of the bars. Also they say the bars don't neck down at the clamp.

Not true. I saw 2 rg that had their stock bars rotated 2 inches higher at Grove's. I talked to the tech and he said its same old knurled, clampdown system.

Default Has anyone actually rotated the Bars

Would like to rotate the bars up to see if it makes the position a little better, i see someone here mentioned they had seen a couple of bikes that had this done, has anyone done this? Would like to know what all it takes? Anyone know if the igntion switch comes off the same as previous versions did?

I have read that you can just pull the pins out and run them without the pins thus a regular bars should work but there will not be anti rotation pins for the controls or risers. This is new for this year so none of my Harley's have ever come with this feature and I have not had an issue without pins. This reminds me of Japanese bikes with the switch housings.

It might hard to rotate the angle of the switch housings with the pins in them. Here is a link to the other forum.

I was also "Told" by a salesmen that the black "clamps" so to speak. The part that faces the rider on each side, are actually larger to provide extra dampening. Weighted I guess you'd say.

Made to eliminate some sort of vibration they found on the road glides.

Take it for what it's worth but it sounded plausible to me. They're definitely 4x larger than the street glide's rear clamps.
