I thought about the crankshaft myself but honestly my knowledge on bike motors is limited. I have to call back tomorrow so I will ask. THanks
If the crankshaft run out was bad your primary would have been over filled with oil. It's one of the items on the check list with this type of issue. They would have checked that way before they replaced anything.
By the way home much has it drop since the repair? Mine did drop a little again after I got mine back in the first 2000 miles, nothing like before. Then it even out and stopped dropping. Been the same for the around 1500 miles now.

Mine burned no oil for the first 1700 miles after the new jugs. The next three hundred miles it burned very little. The last thousand over a half quart the consumption is getting worse the more I ride it.
Can I ask you guys a question if I may. All you were or are running stock when this occurred, no tuning etc. ?
Mine did it from day 1 off the show room floor. Did I eventually add pipes and a tune, yes. Didn't make a difference. The fact that the MoCo authurized the repair and told the dealer how and what to do should let you know this is how they deal with this issue. The dealer doesn't just get to take stabs in the dark on this kind of stuff. Warranty work has to be approved by Harley.
