Default Switching a switch

I need to change out a switchon my 04 RK police cruiser change over project. It is in my left switch panel horn hole. I bought a new bare left hand control housing. The switches on the old controlshad a siren / horn switch. The wires are there for the horn but the switch that sits in the horn spot is not for the horn. I think the switch there nowis for the traffic lights or red / blues. I no longer need these police item and am trying to remove all of them and make my bike a true standard RK. Any ideas. I am pretty sure I can just wire in a horn toggle switch to the original horn wires and use the switchhole form the traffic lightfor a standard horn switch. It is the exact same size toput in a horn switch in. Sounds easy but I know you all know a lot more then I do about this type thing. Therefore, I thought I would ask for all your professional ideas and maybe some knowledge on where to get a horn switch. Thanks

First thing I'd do is make sure I had a service manual for that year. It's got every schematic you could think of, then just buy the switches, and components you need and wire per the diagrams.

I replaced my right control lower housing, and left the left one alone.

I like the horn paddle on the P spec bike better than the civilian version.

I removed the red switch rocker, and replaced it with a right side start rocker... fits on the switch.

I used 2000 grit paper to remove the white lettering. I now have a spare switch for future use.

if it really bothers you to have the P spec horn, Drag Specialties sells the horn switch and a harness

Thanks David_E for the suggestion for the Bible. I do have one and would not try to do wiring with out. I looked on Drag Specialties site and all I could find is the complete left side kit. All I need is one horn button with wires. Hmmmmm you would think that H-D would just sell you the part you need. I asked the dealer and to no luck. I would have to buy the complete left side switch kit. I am looking to eBay now I guess. Thanks

check ebay...there are usually tons of control switches out there where sellers have changed over to chrome switch housings and are selling the oem black ones. I even have a right hand (throttle side) one that i need to post on ebay as well.
