Default 2012 Ultra Classic or Limited.

I'm have located a 2012 Ultra Classic and a 2012 Limited both of which have 10k miles for what I think is a good price, the Limited is 1k more. Between the two, which would you get, presuming they are both mechanically sound, keeping in mind the 1k difference.

Also, if available would you get an extended warranty. I ride between 12k and 15k a year and generally keep motorcycles for a long time as I take a bath because of mileage. Yes I did a search, but I want to hear from some that ride closer to my mileage.

Any insights would bee appreciated.

For the difference of a grand, it's a no brainier, that is if you like the color of the Limited.

As for the ESP, if you can do work yourself, forget it. If you can't and ride 15,000 miles per year or more, it's a coin toss. If your bike breaks and you are dependent upon a shop or a dealer diagnosis and service, maybe the esp is something to consider if out of pocket expenses without it would reck your budget.

Limited all the way, for 1K you get so much more bike... If you can accept the color ? and if its a two tone that alone was $600 more than vivid black.

Extras on the limited package: luggage, line tour pak, ABS, security, Heated hand grips, 12v in tour pak, Titanium faced gauges, lowers, rear speakers, cruise control, intercom communication.

Easy. The Limited....especially if the original purchaser didn't add ABS option to the Ultra. The chrome wheels and heated grips are pretty nice, too. My '12 Limited has about 30k on it and has been a solid bike. Only time it's seen a dealer was to have the voltage regulator replaced under a recall campaign.

Edit: should have added a yes to ESP....I'm a retired geezer and plan to keep this bike for as long as it runs.

Limited.

And I always get the extended warranty... mostly for the stuff I cannot fix on the road.

Pretty nice if you're on a trip and break down.

Limited. And make sure the voltage regulator was replaced if it fell under the program.

Limited because of all the extra equipment. I always get the ESP because I travel around the country on my bike. Not only does it limit your repair exposure to $50, it includes some travel benefits if your bike is down. As for doing the work yourself, there aren't many parts on these bikes that are less than $50...In 4.5 seasons and nearly 50K (I don't do quite as many miles as you), ESP more than paid for itself and because there was still coverage time left, I got more than $400 back.
