2014 Winter Mods Thread
Hey all!
I wanted to start a thread for us to share our plans for winter mods. It's starting to cool off in Colorado, so time to start thinking about these things.
I'll go first...
New chrome fork lowers (mine are pretty nicked up)
Chrome front brake calipers
Klockwerks 21" Slicer fender (replacing the 18/19" Slicer I already have)
HogPro Valor wheels (21/17)
Progressive Monotubes -1" for the front
Replacement Flush mounted axle (Yaffe or FBI)
If there's room in the budget, I'm planning to replace my head unit, install a BT2180 Amp, and the BT7.1 speakers. Was planning to add saddlebag speakers, but the cost/benefit just isn't there.

My braided throttle cables are discolored, so I will probably swap those for the Diamondback cables.
Also on the list:
- Air tank needs to be powder coated.
- May replace my PAC audio (volume) control with the JL Audio unit.
- A few bolts still need to be swapped for the chrome stuff.
- Search Craigslist/eBay for H-D 'Stealth' passenger floorboards.
That stuff doesn't necessarily qualify as anything that needs to wait for winter though.
I keep thinking about just doing a total 'frame-off' once weather gets crappy here in the StL. I would like to power coat the frame & swingarm and run all wiring internally. Not sure though. Would be a lot of work.

I have all the tools and parts except seals to install gloss black front lowers, cowbells, engine guard, spots and front/rear turn signal housings. Also going to install headset wire and a few other things while its apart. Going for a mostly gloss black body on my vivid black SGS but going chrome on the engine and exhaust. Already did stage 1 and solo seat. Thinking about bars but actually kinda like the stock position.
