I just got a sweet deal on a CVO front chrome rim from a 2015 Road King. I don't have abs so who can help me with what bearings I need to change to? I have a few days before I get it from UPS so I would like to have them so I don't have down time. Who can help? Thanks gang!
Go down to the nearest dealer and tell them what you're planning on doing. They'll get you the right set of bearings to install and unless you have a bearing installer you will have to go to a shop for them to be pressed in.
Would the bearing actually need to be changed? ABS bearing have an encoder in them for the ABS equipped bikes. I believe the bearing ID and OD are the same as NON-ABS bearings. I can't see why you would even need to change it out?

change the bearing out and buy non abs bearings. no big deal to switch them out. before installing the new bearings pop the seals out on one side and pack them with some more grease as they don't come with much in them from the factory. you will get longer life out of them.
You only have to replace the left side ABS bearing with a standard bearing. The ABS bearing is 3 mm thicker than a standard bearing. You should be able to get that done for 1/2 hr labor plus about 20.00 for the bearing.Just did a set.

For piece of mind and since the wheel is already off and getting a new bearing installed is no way I would just put one side in.
You need to reread the original post.Wheel is off a 2015 CVO RK.It probably is a dealer takeoff with hardly any miles. If it was off a bike with higher miles I would agree replace both.
Thanks gang. I got the rim from Scrub Cycles. They got the bike new with like 25 miles. I want to do the right way and get both bearings. Thanks for the advice.
