Default Mustang seat 76033 Info

2008-14 Smooth One-Piece Touring, No Studs
Bought this seat and put it on 2014 Ultra Classic thought I would let you know my observations.
- First impression, this seat is a lot firmer (harder) than the stock seat. Assume this is memory foam or closed cell foam. Kinda concerned me but went ahead and got it.
- seat installed on the bike very easily.
- Adjustable back rest on my bike was not a problem and hooked up fine.
- The passenger grab strap now had way to much slack in it so I took it off. The Mustang seat is not as high and not as wide as stock which accounts for the slack.
- Wife and I climbed on and went for a 170 mile ride. My butt was hurting towards the end of the ride. Wife said she did not have any problems
- Next day went for 175 mile ride. I could tell butt was starting to fatigue a little, but did not hurt like day 1. Again wife did not have any issues
- Third ride was 200 miles and it included 20-30 miles of the worst highway i had ever been on. Every section of concrete had a bump in it. But, I did not have any issues. Wife wasn't with me.

With the stock seat I had been having tailbone pain and did not have that on any of the three rides, so that was a big improvement for me.

Sooo, Im saying there is a little bit of a break in period on this seat, or at least there was for me.

can't go wrong with a mustang seat. Had great luck with one on my vstar. If I replace my stock seat I will most likely go with a mustang. I think mustang makes seats for Harley, might be wrong maybe someone else who knows will jime in.

Reminds me of my experience with my Corbin, many years ago. We are still riding on it and have done trips almost 3k miles on it now, including the occasional 400 mile day. However the most important change we made, to improve comfort, was shocks. It is amazing how a decent set can improve riding comfort, especially for Mrs B.

I have a Super Wide touring on my 05 Ultra. I'm 6' and 260 lbs.
Great for city/short trips. After 100 miles or so I get antsy.
It's quite possible it's foam is worn and should be freshened up.

I just got an AirHawk to supplement until I figure how I want to spend money to resolve my issue...

Passenger...no issues at all. She loves it.
I had a Mustang Touring on my old Suzuki Blvd M50, and I loved it...great seat.
But I bought my Ultra used because of the distance/comfort limitations of that blvd.

Mustang makes a quality seat...I think mine is just past it's prime...

I have an Ultimate Seat on my metric and love it. I upgraded from a Mustang. If they made an Ultimate for my old Evo I would have put one one there too. But alas they do not so I had to go with Mustang again. They do however make them for newer Harleys. Very expensive tho, about double the cost of Mustangs. But well worth it to me. You actually feel like your sitting in the seat and not on it, same goes for the passenger. Soft memory foam forms to you every time you get on.

One other thing I forgot, when I'm stopped and put both feet down, seems like the nose of the seat is a little wider and that I feel it slightly more on inside of thighs, but nothing significant.

What size are you? Did it move you closer to the tank? Thx...

I'm 5' 11", have a 29-30" inseam.
I don't think it moved me closer to the tank, but can't say definitively. If it did, not really that noticeable.

I just put a Mustang Vintage super solo on my RK yesterday, and it is way different from stock. It is wider along the thigh area, sits taller, and sits back a little over an inch.

It is definitely going to take some getting used to, but I believe it will be better once broke in. Did around 75 miles on it last night just after putting it on, and found I needed to raise my foot pegs up a bit to make up for the higher seat in order to take some pressure off my inner thighs.

Definitely not closer to the tank on the solo, and one really nice thing is I don't find myself needing to push myself back in the seat due to sliding forward like I did with stock.
