Default Peace Officer Limited Price...

Is there a difference in price from an Ultra Limited and a Peace Officer/Fire/Shriner Limited? I thought there was when I ordered my 2005 Peace Officer Ultra. Yesterday however I had two different salesmen at two different dealerships tell me there was no difference in price now.
Thanks

Check the H-D website, they show as different colours, amongst all the other optional colours, which seems to support what you've been told.

out the door pricing- some dealers give a deal on PO/FD models.

You could check kbb or Nada for MSRP info.

shriner is just paint- really.

In days of yore the shriner model would often be a low compression, lower geared version for parade and display unit use.

I have a '14 FF edition Limited. It was $200 more MSRP because of different badging on the tank. I was offered 10% off without blinking an eye.

Hope this helps you.

So do you have to prove that you're a LEO, Firefighter or Shriner or can just anyone buy a new one?

Most dealers will ask for proof. Badge or some other proof of employment/retired. I have a friend that works in a dealer in Wisconsin and he told me there is extra paperwork required on these deals. I don't know, when I bought mine I told them I was a retired FF and that was all the asked.

I think a dealer can order one in and sell it to anyone after 60 days, again just what I've heard.

The only difference in these bikes is color and the tank badge. Here is mine, '14 Limited Fierfighter edition.

yes it varies

some dealers I know in AZ require a peace officer certification

the Shriner- look into joining up. The Shriners do some good works.

In 2005 I also had to sign something saying I would keep it for at least year before selling it since I was getting a better deal.
I also had to show credintials.

My buddy (retired LEO) bought a new bike in 2008. He was offered 10% off MSRP for an Ultra, Peace Officer Edition. He is not into telling everyone what he used to do for a living and did not care for the dealership. Went elsewhere telling this story, second dealership offered him the 10% off on any bike he wanted. He got the Ultra in black (because it is faster!!).

One dealership did offer me any 2014 Limited at the Peace Officer price so there must be a difference.
I agree with not advertising being a cop but the badging is so small you really have to look. Time was it was easy to tell a Peace Officer edition it came in two tone blue and looked like a police bike.
If there is no difference in price then I won't bother, but if I can save some money buying it well that's even better.
