I bought mine because I could get it cheaper than a standard Limited, at least from the dealer I used. I wasn't too concerned what color I got.

 

A riding buddy of mine just bought a Police Officer Edition Ultra and the only difference is the badging and a thin blue line (pin stripe) on the bike. He got no discount and the salesman told him he would sell one of these to anyone who walked thru the door. Ain't that special ?

 

Called a dealer on the other coast and was told there is a difference just didn't have the price sheet to tell me though.
WTH?! Now I am more confused.

 

Like I said earlier, the price difference is about $200 because the tank badging is different. My dealer did the same thing, told me they were the same price. Then they called to place the order and found the price difference.

 

$200 more or less? My 05' was less, much less. If there is a difference are the people getting screwed because the dealers are keeping the extra?

 

MSRP will be $200 more for the POSE. Even after the increase I was given a larger discount than if I had bought the regular Limited. It worked in my favor. Your dealer may be different.

 

Originaly bought my '10 FF shrine and didn't even notice the removable insert on the badge and was never questioned about my profession. Left it on in honor of all FFers (thanks)but it is easily removed.

 

It used to be that a Peace officer, firefighter or shrine bike was the same price as a vivid black bike, don't know about now though.

 

When I purchased my 2007 FF Edition I had to show ID they made copies for HD and my bike was about $3000 cheaper than the civilian model. I did not want Red but for the money difference who cares.

 

they required proof when I bought mine. It was a little cheaper. You greatly reduce your customer base when you sell though. Just keep that in mind
