Default 2014 Street Glide Special engine knocking

Gents and ladies,

I know we have allot of knowledge and mechanics on this site. I need your advise what it could be.

Here we go again, my engine is doing a knocking sound towards the top of the engine. It almost sounds like like the oil is not reaching the top of it.

It does it after I ride 30 minutes to work stopped in traffic when I'm reading to go through a gate at work.

Also during long rides 2 hours or more, when I stop for 5 minutes, to get a drink out of my saddle bag. I'll shut it off, then I'll hear the knocking sound right before I take off then it stops. Either way that can not be good for the engine, almost sounds metal to metal at first.

Last my tail pipe on the left has a dark exhaust build up. The bike has 3000 miles on it and is under warranty still. I will be taking it in for sure, just want some knowledge what the hell it could be.

Forgot to add, did a stage one, Vance & Hines 4' ovals, Dyno tuned at 1200 miles. That is it.

Thanks

I think you better take it back to a Master Harley technician instead of listening to all our guess's on what could be wrong.

It's in the shop as week speak, just by what I told them it does not sound good. They have been talking to the HD, on another street Glide and a new engine is beiing put in that other bike.

I'll keep everyone posted on the out come.

Thanks for the reply's.

the first move if you have a warranty is to dump it in their lap.

an owner can violate a warranty claim by trying to fix themseleves.

Just hand it over and let them take care of it.
