Question for owners of Road Kings with WO518s
I have a 2010 RKC that currently has Khromewerks 2+2s and I don't like the look. I am 5-11 with 34" sleeves. I've searched the forum and found a number of pictures of RKs with 518s and that is more of the look I want.
Most of my rides are 100-250 miles but a few times a year I take long rides that are broken up with 350-450 mile days. I need to ride with a backrest and want bars that will allow me to lean against the backrest and reach the bars without stretching.
Questions: 1. will the 518s allow me to ride against the backrest without reaching for the grips? and
2. I've read about some concerns over the wrist angles of the 518s, what are your experiences?
Do to the price of these bars, I'm hoping to get the selection right without breaking the bank.

I'm in that ball park at 6' with 34" sleeve and a 2010 RK sporting WO518's. Also have the backrest and I would say they are just about perfect. Although sometimes when I slouch in the seat I wish they came back about 1" more but generally it's not a problem at all. Even with that said I would not change them because of that. Before these bars my neck and shoulders would be all knotted up and burning within an hour and half of riding and now I have ridden up to about 5 hours with no discomfort.... no discomfort. That is my longest ride so I know I could go longer. Wrist angle has never felt odd at all.

I'm 5'9" and had the 508's for years on my RK. Same bar with a touch more pull back for a shorter guy w/ shorter arms. The absolute best ride I have ever had. Personally, I don't get the ape hanger thing with arms straight out and high. I like my hands closer to me and low with my upper arms almost pointing straight down. The 508's were perfect with my Mustang seat and riders backrest. I love those bars so much I had BR's Bars custom bend a similar set for my Street Glide since the 508's(or 518's) won't work with a batwing. I don't think you will regret going with 518's. Good luck!
