Default Forgot my keys.

Finished 3 hours of yard work and when I was done I jumped on the SG and went for a ride. Got my phone and wallet but forgot my keys. Noticed I needed gas so pulled into gas station. Damn, forgot key to open fuel door. Oh well, since I'm here I'll run in and play my numbers. A few minutes later a bro pulls in on a RG to get gas. Went over and asked if I could use his key to open my fuel door. He wasn't sure if it work on mine but I read on the forum all the barrel keys fit any fuel door. Opened mine and filled it up. Thanks to you guys for all the tips I learn on here.

I've got a spare that will only open the gas cap.Salesman gave it to me when I forgot mine one time.Keep it on the bike just for that purpose.

I have the smooth push button. No need for the key and makes gassing up that much easier.

The push button sounds like the answer for me.

This.

But my keys are chained to my belt, and stay in my pocket 24/7.

When I fuel, I generally stay on the seat, don't like digging the key out of my pocket and unhooking it. One of the first things I do to a bike is loose that key button. The 14 comes with the smooth button...

I ended up with the locking push button. It's a pain in the butt to push the button requiring a bit of a fingernail. I never lock it, go for the smooth version without the lock.

Don't feel bad. Mine fell out of my pocket on a ride a couple weeks back. Was in a rush leaving the gas station and didn't throw them in the glove box like I normally do.

Or a Road King - no key needed for gas.

Did a similar thing a month or so ago. Ended up having to invite the wifey over to the gas station burger joint and bring my keys. I guess I need to throw one of the keys into the bike somewhere or look into one of the no-key setups. Who makes them?
