no it isn;t

it's good for around town and that's what i use it for --- I also use a -4"windscreen with it. seating position is about 2" down and 2" back from stock ultra

I use a FLHX seat for day rides- good for 4 hours, painful at 6 - 3' windscreen. seating position is down and back about 1.5"...the SG seat has a nice bumper to keep the rear from sliding around- I prefer the 2009/2010 version it is sleeker

and the Ultra seat when touring...-2" windscreen

before you do anything, pull your stock seat and ensure that the fender isn;t all chewed up from the seat grinding dirt into the fender

I just went through this same dilemma & after months of research I went with a C&C solo seat. The customer service was top notch & always answered my calls & questions & the seat is more than I expected in comfort & looks compared to my stock HD, the Corbin or Mustang that I've tried. Plus the price was better than a the rest with a great warranty. Good luck.

I put on a Street Glide seat. Very comfy and lower profile than the stock seat

I suggest you do the Demo thing at your dealership. Everyone is going to tell you what works for them, that's OK. But don't waste your money before actually trying one out first.

I use a Corbin.

If you're talking temperature cool, look into a sheepskin or air hawk type.

For a cooler seat, I picked up this tip from a dual sport rider. He put me onto an Alaska Sheepskin from Alaska Leather. I'm thinking "ain't no way this thing is going to be cooler." 20K miles later, it't he best thing I've ever put on my bikes, very comfortable and wicks heat and moisture away.

And warmer in the winter. Some of the best money I ever spent. Mine came from here though. http://www.blacksheeptrading.com/mtrcyccov.html

Cooler temp or cooler looking? A seat that is less sweaty would be better in the summer. I found that those running underwear that are not cotton really help with the sweaty *** on hot day. Good luck.
