Here was the fix. The 2009 cam with speaker adapters that were flat. Looking at the boom audio instructions I noticed the adapters were not flat. So I went to the dealer and we worked on it and found out the part number 77047-98 was the speaker adapter I needed.

This is one of those things that there is only one answer to test it to see if it helps.
Another thing you could consider is the lower fairing with the 6.5 inch boom speakers. I have them and I can hear a lot better with them, I am short but very hard of hearing.
