That will look great. Looking forward to the pics. Fwiw, a buddies Road Glide CVO has chrome lowers and contrasting dark grey cow bells. Looks great.

Thanks....the best part is that it only cost me $10 and less than 45 minutes! I sanded the lower legs with 400 grit, then used 4 coats of filler primer, sanded with 600 grit wet, then used 4 coats of Rustoleum Gloss Black. It looks like powdercoat

I blacked out my forks with Plasti-Dip. About $6.00 for a can of the stuff. It comes off easy if you don't like it/want to change it, but it stays put quite well if you don't bang on it with a wrench or sumpin'. Since the forks get more abuse from aeronautical arthropods and small bits of naturally occurring mineral aggregates, I opted to give 'em an additional coat of spray bed-liner. It is quite durable, but if you want to remove it you still can with a bit of elbow grease. Without the bed-liner the Plasti-Dip will come off in a big sheet.

Did the same to the crash bars, too. And the headlight trim...and the aux lights.

Couple of youtube videos about application and removal of Plasti-Dip.

(I have no financial interest in Plasti-Dip, etc. I simply like the stuff and think that everyone else should like it, too. )

I have used Plastidip on several projects including the lower forks, wheels and other bits and pieces on my previous bike (07 Suzuki Blvd) as I like the stuff as well. The only thing about it is that the finish comes out "flat black" or semi gloss (even with their clear) and like you mentioned, its a bit "delicate".I went with Rustoleum because my forks had a lot of pitting, so I went with paint for durability and shine. Heres a pic of the Suzuki plastidipped lowers and wheels.
