Default Used Ultra Question

I am considering going back to a bagger. Since the '14's came out, there are some good deals on pre - '14's. A local dealer has a '13 Ultra Classic and a '12 Ultra Limited. Both are bone stock, vivid black, excellent condition, about 7,500 miles. Thing is they are exactly the same price.

I have had two baggers in the past, both Road Kings.

Question - For the the same price, should I go with the '13 Ultra Classic or the '12 Ultra Limited? And why? Thanks!

Limited. Its worth the it as long as the miles are the same. Ofcourse, you didn't mention what upgrades the ultra had? Stock to stock, it would cost around $3k to match them with the painted inner fairing, the chrome wheels, etc.

The limited doesn't have a painted inner fairing. The big draw for the first year Limited (2010) was the 103 engine versus the 96 in the Ultra. Now with the 103 being standard issue the only differences are heated grips, different paint scheme, different gauges and a few pieces of added chrome. Really kinda hard to justify the cost difference. For the same miles and money I'd take the 13 Ultra.

2010 Limited with some stuff

Limited also adds ABS, security system, and chrome wheels as standard equipment over the ultra classic.

I personally would choose the limited,it has a hole lot of extras that the ultra does not have.ABS,security, luggage rack, heated grips, cruise ,different radio.Look them over side by side and you will see, since they are both black that has no value.I would still get a 3 year ESP with tire and wheel, even though some would say it was say it's a waist of money.......... compsator-50 bucks, two warped front rotors 50 bucks, rear tire free, and that's just the first year after warranty ran out.

I bought an 07 ultra, got ESP. 12 months later had $2000 worth of work done under the ESP on the transmission. Would recommend it to anyone!

Limited, same motor in both, Limited will offer a bit more in trade in if you ever want to. Limited has tourpak, rack, 12 receptacle in tourpak, heated grips, CB, better radio, chrome rims, ABS. That is all I can think of.

Compare prices, dealers on eBay are selling them for those miles around 15,700 - 18,000 for same year and miles. I picked up a 12 limited about 3 weeks ago from a dealership in Iowa for $15,700 with 11,261 miles.

I would also second the ESP with tire and wheel if you are going to tour on it, peace of mind is worth it IMO.

I'd go Limited too, just for the few extras and the chrome wheels. Another vote for the ESP with wheel and tire.

Limited, better value. Get the ESP & tire warranty.
