Default I like my stock pipes...BUT?

I have always liked the look of the Stock pipes on my EG's. After the 1000 mile service I will be adding a K& N AF, is there a way to somehow modify my stock pipes (open them up) or do I need to get me some SE's? Or should I bite the bullet and get a set of Touring or Performance mufflers and the "Sport Taper End Caps" (closest to original look) ? BTW, not looking to get much louder than stock, is that a problem?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

There is a guy on ebay BOBVIC that has stockers that have modified baffles, he has one thats 1 3/4" baffle. It would be louder, but not a whole lot. You could e-mail him and ask what else he could offer. I had him do a set for me with the 2" baffles, I like them for the price.

They are fairly inexpensive as well. Between $95 and $125

I went to swap meet and got a set of mufflers for $10.00. Good to excellant condition. Punchedout inner baffle and left outer in tact. Time will tell. Should give little more air and only minor increase to sound.

I was just checking these out on e-bay, not bad. 2500 positive feedabcks with only 1 negitive. That alone say's alot. If your looking for stock lookin mufflers, these maybe the ticket. Rich A

I believe you can change out the pipes without the remap, but if you touch the A/C you have to remap.

I've got the superflows on my 06 flhti and didn't need the remap. They do tend to pop a bit on decel but after the dealer replaced my injectors for the 25 degree and remapped the bike it no longer pops. I'm going to install a K&N filter and then I'll have to remap the bike. The pipes sound great without too much noise at highway speeds and I can still listen to my mp3 if I want. Mine were $189.00 including shipping to mtn city tn and I also went with a fullsac dual conversion to make it sound like a Harley again, definately don't miss the crossover pipe. There is also a guy here that will buy your original pipes and crossover pipe so you won't have the extra parts lying around.

I just took a 1" holesaw and did the rearmost baffle on the stock mufflers and they picked up 1 or 2 decibles.
You could maybe get a 1 1/8" in there , but the 1" was an easy way to go.
Would sound a bit better on non-catalyst (pre 06) stock mufflers though.
If you hated the sound , they're really cheap (stock) on ebay.

Contact Steve at www.Fullsac.com He can re-core your mufflers for better sound and performance. I had the pipes on my '06 SE Ultra done and I love them.
