Yeah I did an inch..but progressive told me to do 3/4 an inch. Now I can truly say that it's best to just ride and decide what's best or feels good. I'm on 1 1/2 turns preload now. I was at 1 1/4 (1 inch sag) this weekend I was at 2 turns which is 3/4 inch sag. I'm just experimenting right now. I'm OK with 1 1/4 up to 2 full turns.

 

Any updates? I am thinking about putting mine on this weekend.

 

No change. Went down to just one turn and it was a lil too soft for me. I bottomed out once but the dang hole was huuge. I'm back on 1 1/4 turn and it's fine. If I had one complaint it would be--rebound is kinda harsh on hard bumps--a few bumps, my butt comes off seat. But no bottoming at all and I prefer the feedback ....ala BMW

 

Thanks for the helpful review, Top... still noodling through my shocks / springs decision. Was set to pull the trigger on Progressive, but want to more fully research Ohlins and one or two others before I pull the trigger on a purchase.

 

944's or any spring shock for that matter will "tighten up" the feel of the bike and get rid of the wallowy stock feeling that it seems so many people want. We sell lots of 944's and have quite a few sets in stock. $525 a set shipped. Give us a call.

 

Just had Legend suspension installed on my 14 Limited. Went with the Revo rear shocks and the new Legend AXEO front end kit. While I have only ridden the new setup 20 miles I am amazed at the improvement over stock. The bike feels much more solid. Firmer and Smoother ride. Handles better too. Tried stopping fast from 50mph, the front end no longer dives hard. Really inspires confidents. Looking forward to more miles, best mod todate.

I'm sure all the quality suspension setups on the market greatly improve how your bike rides and handles. I wonder why Harley does not use similar suspension components day one. They have dramatically improved brakes, frame, running gear. The OEM suspension is now the weak link IMHO.

That's a good price. Cheapest I've found is on Amazon for right at $600. I bought a used set of 13" Heavy Duty Progressive 944s online the other day for $350.00 shipped that came off of an 09 RG. Progressive says they will fit my 2014 SG. I'm 280 - 290 lbs. and my GF is about 150lbs. I'm hoping they will work. They are being shipped out today so I do not have them yet. What should I expect? How will the ride be different? I'm hoping to dial these in good.

 

I think if you measured before and after you would find the seat height about 1/2 inch higher with the 944's when the bike is on the jiffy stand. With the stock shocks the distance from center to center on the shock mount bolts is 11 3/4 ". With the 944's it is 12 1/2". How do I know this I just bought an EZ-Up stand for my bike. The standard height stand for the Street Glide was too short because the bike sits higher with the 944's. Had to get a longer stand. Not a big deal and I like the way the progressive's improved the handling but the seat height as you get on the bike is a little higher.

 

Good to know because I'm going to install these shocks and also want to get that EZup center stand. Which stand did you have to go with and how did it all work out? Was it a simple exchange? Was it the Wheeldock EZ Up?
