Lower the bike or get a new seat or deal with it???
Here is my question....I currently have a Sundowner on my Road King, however I tippy-toe a bit when stopped. It isn't as bad riding two-up, however I still tippy-toe. I am about 5-10/11. Will the Corbin seat lower me to the ground more? How is the comfort of the Corbin Dual Touring Seat compared to the Sundowner? I am very comfortable in the Sundowner with my rider's backrest, except for not being flat-footed when stopped. Should I look at Corbin or should I see about lowering the bike with different shocks? I recently rented an ULtra and was flat-footed with the stock Ultra seat.
What are you thoughts, opinions, etc.???
Thanks from a newbie to this forum!

Iam 5'6" - I LOVE my corbin and I also wear Redwing's with the heavy soles/heals - I have stock sus and all is fine... I have lowered my bike and went back to stock - I ride two up a lot with bags packed - I did not care for the ride...

I wish I was 5 10 instead of 5 6 . I had my 06 EGC lowered, front and rear ,at about 200 miles. I am really disappointed in the ride and when some major maintenance comes due, the stock soft riding stuff is going back on,. I have the stock saddle and my wife and I are really both happy with it. Lowering the bike didn't make up for a lack of experience on how to ride these Glides and I now feel confident in handling a stock height bike. I've had a Sundowner on another bike and that saddle isn't helping you reach the ground at all.

Sundowners seem to raise you almost 3/4" higher the stock (as I have one on my RG and on my RK) - Son put a Corbin Dual on his RK and it also raised him (He's 5'8") ended up lowering his front & rear (Progressive springs Ft and Progressive 12" rear) - he's now flat footed and gained handling - but lost the softer touring ride... HD Reach seat will lower you & move you forward but it isn't the best seat on the market... If ya got the $$$ and the time - make an appointment and go directly to Corbin as they will make a seat "CUSTOM" just for you normally in 1 day...

Firstly UMC , welcome to the forum.
Seems like a bunch of the guys here like to go with http://www.meancitycycles.com/ and have them do a 2" drop and memory foam mod
for them on the stock seat. Maybe he can do the same for the sundowner.
Sounds like a good deal if your Girlfriend/Wife likes the rear half already.
I have no experience with meancity , but I am thinking about it more and more.
I think he gets about $80.00 for this mod.The feedback from the members here has been very positive.
You might want to "swing a leg over" a few other peoples bikes and see what they have done and how happy they are with the results too.
Good luck
Mick

Don't deal with it. Do what ever you have to do to feel comfortable on the bike. As an owner of several past BMW bikes I know what you are talking about. BMW bikes have high seat hight and even being 6 foot I still had problems flat footing the bike. This can lead to problems and even a worst case senerio of dumping the bike.
Get a good seat and the shocks should beavailable from Ebay cheap.
