The HD hand adjustables come in both a 12" and 13" version.

I went from the stock 12" to the Ohlins 3-3's 13" shocks and even though the ride was better (not great) It was a pain having to change both shocks every time I went from one to two up. I then tried a CVO take off set of the 12" hand adjustable harley shocks and have been happy ever since, I also have the mono tubes in front and the hammock seat.
I love this set up, the Ohlins have been sitting on the shelf for a year and I plan to use them one a solo build I'm going to do after my 106 crank gets beefed up.

Because their already asking too much for the CVO LTD as it is, they would have to jack up the price another $500-1000 if they added the shocks as well!

Putting the Premium Hand Adjustable shocks on the '09 SERG was a good improvement over the stock air shocks. Adding the Premium Fork Cartridges (3-4k mi. later) was a drastic improvement!!!

After 1k mi. and 2 adjustments on the shocks everything seemed to settle in and is playing very well together.

'Have around 15k on the combo so far, 'still real happy!!!

That's why I went with Works Steel Trackers DRS/ARS. IMHO, just pay for a outstanding product the first time. You can pull the pins on the bags, pull the top out enough to change the settings & reinstall pins. It takes me 3 minutes. I went with the 13" for better handling.

I for one thought the stock air shocks were a completely misurable expieriance. They were terrible to say the least!! I'm not sure whats worse the ride they provided or the amount of complaining my wife did about how rough my bike rode. I believe the hd premium hand adjustable shocks made a high difference. Are they the absolute best shock on the market.... No but they are leaps and bounds better than the air shocks. My wife only weights about 100lbs. So to be honest I rarely adjust the shocks becouse she is riding with me. If I'm throwing the touring pack on and loading the bike down for a trip then yes I will take the time to adjust them. I'm hAppy with the hand adjustables but the air shocks were just painfull.

Ohlins 3-3 are shocks from Howard, yes. curious why you felt the need to switch from two up to solo. mind you I have the JRI 13 Howard design but I just set it for two up and it performs night and day better solo/2up over the stock 12 air left at the 2up setting.

I wonder about pulling a trailer. I have the hand adjustables on a SESG...looking at buying an N-Line trailer. I know at their highest setting, the adjustables are very stiff under a full two-up load. I'm hoping the trailer will not overload them.

Be careful HD!! It's OK to discuss the pros/cons of the HD Premium shocks or the Progressive 944s..or seats or bars or backrests...but the minute you mention a personal con you had of the Ohlin shock...u will be banned from the forum.
Just kidding man!!! Seriously, I am. In my many months of forum reading and researching, I've just noticed that the Ohlin guys are diehard...the way we all are about Harleys in general. Having said that...and I probably made some folks mad--I ordered my Progressive 944s yesterday evening. I'm super excited

**edited** 1Canuck, my post wasn't about u---I just saw ur reply--hopefully u get a smile out of my post because you know u luuuuuv ur Ohlins
