Default chrome oil cooler cover

I recently bought the chrome oil cooler cover and installed it. However the two upper corners hit, barely, but it does touch both lower fairings. I removed it till I figure this out. Anyone else notice this. The cover is suppose to fit 11 and later touring. 14 ultra here. Thoughts.

have you given any thought to how that cover will impede the airflow through the regulator's cooling fins?

The bike comes with a plastic cover..doesn't impede air flow. The chrome part is designed by HD to function the same and replace the plastic one. However it is slightly larger and it hits the lowers where the plastic part clears.

Your choice is either to relieve the corners of the cover, then paint over them to match the chrome with silver paint, or relieve the lower fairing. Were it me, I would relieve the covers.

A part should not need modifying that was supposedly designed to work. Perhaps the cooler needs to move down or the lowers need to move. Not sure if there is any free play there some where. Otherwise it goes back. There may be something wrong with the part though I think unlikely.

You may be able to move the bottom of the lower fairings out a little by undoing the clamp. I seem to remember there being a little wiggle room if you slacken the three nuts in the glove box.
